LOL@ me submitting something digitally colored.

This is part of my 2 week culture/movie study. :)
Simple, but prideful
As I investigated Jamaican fashion online, I discovered that Carribean Fashion Week was comming up soon. On the website, they have several links to featured Jamaican fashion designers. So I pulled some inspiration from that.
From what I've seen, alot of the fashion that is popular there goes from simple to almost theatrical, but not as much as other countries. Most of the fashions appeared to be beach/summer inspired. There were alot of swim suit tops and skirt mixes among the designers. I really liked how simple, but cultural that was. It's also quite sensible being that it's Jamaica. lol
Even though I choose to stick to flat grey scale on this peice, I wanted to convey the colors red, yellow and green. These three colors are the colors used to show Jamaican pride and these colors show up A LOT in Jamaican designs. I thought that was interesting because it's not like that-deliberatley in America.

For this peice, I wanted to experiment in several different ways. Firstly, I actually used a pencil for this and then went over and did lines. I've always hated doing line art because I feel it makes things stiff, but in my drawing in pen I've become more confident in my lines. That and I'm not afraid to mess up any lines. I just try to use them to my advantage instead of acting like a baby. lol.
I also posed for this and drew at the same time. something I only do rarely. XD. and boy did it really help. :)

LOL@ it being thursday and this being the first thing I'm submitting.
lol.

Matt, you need to make a book out of your work. I'm serious. And I love her nose. And the posture. And the concept.
